A Sydney man who only played tennis and chess at school is today repeatedly referring to the NSW Origin team first as “we.”
“We levelled the series last night,” says Jason Dunn. “How good is Origin football?”
It comes after the NSW Blues thrashed QLD 34 – 10 at ANZ stadium.
“Last night was a big night,” Dunn says. “I stayed up to watch the whole match on TV and I even watched some of the post match celebrations.”
The 31 year old is among the many Australians who know nothing about NRL, but are quick to jump on board the State of Origin bandwagon, pretending they are die hard NRL fans.
“Honestly I’d do anything for the boys in Blue. We absolutely smashed the Maroons last night!”
And, he also has some poignant thoughts on Blues halfback Nathan Cleary.
“What a champion! I never turned my back on him, even amid calls for him to be dropped from the team. Bring him up here I wanna boof him.”*
