Local social media addict now using a guide dog so he doesn’t need to look up from his phone

SCREEN TIME: Visually impaired Australians are expressing deep concern about a local man using a guide dog as a way to avoid looking up from his mobile phone.

“It’s so convenient,” says lifestyle influencer Jake Bradley-Holmes.

“I can walk around and keep texting and checking my TikTok notifications etc, without having to look up from my phone.”

The 28 year old estimates the guide dog saves him at least 45 minutes a day.

“I used to have to look up every few seconds to make sure I wasn’t about to walk into someone or something,” he says.

“That meant that it took me so much longer to do things on my phone.”

The RSPCA is urging people not to follow his lead.

“Guide dogs are a limited resource, please stop trying to use them if you are not blind or visually impaired,” says the RSPCA.

“Instead just look up from your phone while walking, especially in crowded areas, and stop being such an absolute muppet.”
