Paddington Woman Applies For Flood Relief Payment After Being Splashed By Passing Car

BIG WET: With large parts of New South Wales under water, a flooding ’emergency’ has one Sydney woman pleading for help.

Lawyer Karen Murphy was splashed with water by a passing vehicle not far from her Paddington home.

“Several drops hit me, forcing me to go back home and get changed,” she told DBT. “I’m also going to have to get my work clothes dry cleaned.”

Ms Murphy claims she’s entitled to the $1000 flood relief payment being given to people affected by the flooding disaster.

“I’m definitely entitled to compensation because I was forced to cancel my manicure appointment this afternoon,” she says. “It was very inconvenient.”

“My heart goes out to those who’ve lost homes and loved ones in the floods, but honestly they’re not the only ones being impacted.”

More heavy rain is expected in Sydney over the next week.
