“If I Lose Today, I’m Going To Become A Real Estate Agent, So I Can Keep Putting My Face On Billboards”

SIGN OF THE TIMES: High profile ‘teal’ independent Allegra Spender has today shared her future career plans should she lose the seat of Wentworth in today’s federal election.

“I’m going to become a real estate agent,” she told DBT exclusively. “I’ve enjoyed having my face on billboards everywhere, and I want that to continue.”

With her signs appearing on pretty much every single power poll in the eastern suburbs, Ms Spender has been campaigning on a platform of climate change and government integrity.

“But to be honest, the main reason I’m running in this election is so that everyone can see my face everywhere they turn,” she admitted. “I love the notoriety.”

And while polling shows Ms Spender is on track to win the seat of Wentworth, she says she remains focused on the prospect of a future career in real estate.

“I know of a lovely two bedroom apartment coming up for sale in Rose Bay,” she was overheard telling a voter today. “It’s a great time to buy.”
