Groom at lavish Vaucluse wedding gives special thanks to guests who travelled “all the way from Maroubra”

DESTINATION WEDDING: A groom at a Vaucluse wedding has left some guests confused as he gave special thanks to those who’d traveled “all the way from Maroubra.”

“A heartfelt thanks to those who came here from interstate and overseas, and also to our brave friends who traveled all the way from Maroubra,” Christian Robertson said during his speech.

“It means so much that you’ve made the trip here for our special day and it’s so great to see you all here in the eastern suburbs.”

While some guests clapped in appreciation, others were quick to clarify that Maroubra is actually in the eastern suburbs, and only a 20 minute drive from the wedding venue.

“At first I thought Christian was joking,” said one Maroubra guest.

“To them, anything beyond Bondi Junction is basically the outback.”
