Groom at wedding held in Vaucluse gives special thanks to guests who travelled “all the way from Maroubra”

DESTINATION WEDDING: A groom at a lavish Vaucluse wedding today has left guests feeling a mix of awe and disbelief as he gave special thanks to those who’d traveled “all the way from Maroubra.”

“A heartfelt thanks to those who came here from interstate and overseas,  and also to our brave friends who traveled all the way from Maroubra,” Christian Robertson said during his speech.

“It means so much that you’ve made the trip here for our special day and it’s so great to see you all here in the eastern suburbs.”

The speech caused a stir among some of the guests who were quick to clarify that Maroubra is actually in the eastern suburbs, and only a 20 minute drive from the wedding venue.

“At first I thought Christian was joking,” said one Maroubra guest. “But then I realised he was deadly serious and very naive about Sydney’s geography.”

Upon further investigation, DBT can reveal that Christian Robertson – who grew up in Vaucluse – has never been any further west than Westfield Bondi Junction.

“But he broke up with her the second he found out she lived in Randwick.”
