George Calombaris To Release New Cook Book: ‘Cook The Books’

One day after his restaurant empire went into voluntary administration, George Calombaris has announced the release of his latest cook book.

“‘Cook The Books’ is a true story,” says Calombaris. “It’s a warts and all account of the time leading up to the collapse of my company.”

The book’s release comes seven months after Calombaris admitted that his company MAdE Establishment had underpaid around 400 employees a total of $7.8 million.

George Calombaris denies knowingly underpaying staff, instead blaming it on a back office error.

“The last few months have been extremely challenging for me,” says the Melbourne born chef. “Hopefully the book will help explain exactly what went wrong.”

‘Cook The Books’ is Calombaris’s 6th cook book, but it’s his first which is not directly related to actual food.

“It’s available in all good book stores,” he says.
