OUTWIT, OUTPLAY, OUTLAST: An Easter long weekend trip to the Blue Mountains has triggered dreams of appearing on reality TV for one local man.
“I went to Leura to meet my new girlfriend’s parents and yesterday we also did a hike, which – to be honest – I found quite easy,” says Marcus Belford.
The 32 year old has now applied to go on the next season of Survivor after completing the 45 minute hike “without any problems at all, except for my socks getting a bit wet.”
“On Thursday before the trip, I went to buy a puffer vest from The North Face store at Westfield Bondi Junction, and the rest is history,” he told DBT.
The popular TV show Survivor features a group of contestants marooned in an isolated location, where they must provide food, water, fire, and shelter for themselves.
“It should be a walk in the park to be honest,” says Mr Belford. “Yesterday’s hike taught me a lot about myself and I’m ready for anything.”
“I just have to ask the producers if I’m allowed to wear my R.M Williams on the show.”
UPDATE: Mr Belford is reportedly re-thinking his Survivor application, after realising many of the cafes in the Blue Mountains don’t serve pumpkin spice chai latte’s.
More to come.
