It’s the virus which has killed more than 113,000 people and paralysed the global economy.
But there’s an upside, according to a new report.
“Our research shows an overwhelming majority of Sydney-siders actually prefer living here during the pandemic,” says report author Simon Warren from UNSW.
Survey respondents pointed to significant reductions in crowds, traffic and parking issues arising from strict social distancing measures.
“I’m also loving working from home,” says one respondent. “And there’s nothing happening socially, so I can really relax without any fear of missing out.”
The report shows 71% of Sydney-siders are hopeful the lockdown will continue for more than 6 months.
“I don’t even have to go and visit my parents,” says another respondent. “It’s just a great time to be alive.”
