Senior citizen angry about length of post office queue while lining up to pay his phone bill

OLD SCHOOL: A man who refuses to learn how to pay his bills online is upset about the long queues at his local post office.

“Today I lined up for 14 minutes just to pay my bloody Telstra landline bill,” says Max Waterson. “Australia Post needs to take a good long hard look at itself.”

It’s understood the other customers inside the post office at Potts Point were all there to either pick up or drop off actual mail items.

“I’ve been coming here for 45 years to pay my phone bill, and it’s never been so slow,” says the raging boomer. “Everything is so inefficient here these days.”

DBT reminded the 72 year old about the option of using direct debits or BPAY to save him time spent lining up at the post office.

“What the hell is BPAY?” he asked. “I’ve never heard of it. I might just have to stop using my phone altogether. It’s too much of a hassle to pay the damn bill.”

Mr Waterson says he’s now considering writing a letter about the issue to the editor of his favourite newspaper, The Wentworth Courier.
