NSW government expands Woollahra rezoning plan, with 800 new homes now slated for Bondi Beach

SAND AND DELIVER: Only one week after the release of planning documents for 10,000 new homes in Woollahra, the state government has announced a similar plan for Bondi Beach.

Under the proposal, six residential towers will be built on the sand, spanning from south Bondi Beach all the way to the Bondi Pavilion.

“This is a great opportunity for more people to enjoy this iconic beach,” says the Premier.

“Frankly, I can’t believe this vacant land hasn’t been developed already.”

The government says the development will retain Bondi’s existing character by including ground-floor Pilates studios, boutique bottle shops and upmarket cafés.

Beach access will remain available to the public, except on Friday evenings between 3.30pm and 8pm, when the beach will be for new tower residents only.
