A writer on the satirical website Double Bay Today (DBT) is in a state of inner turmoil today.
Paddy Alan is questioning his entire existence after the publication’s Facebook page was banned along with other major Australian news and satire outlets.
“How can Zuckerberg do this!?” asks Alan. “Facebook accounts for 70% of traffic to the DBT website.”
Mr Alan says he’s hoping the ban is just Facebook’s short term bargaining tool against news publishers, but he hasn’t ruled out a return to his old job.
“I’ve already given my old boss at Coles a call,” he says. “I’ve told him I might need my shelf stacking job back.”
