Time Out magazine names Double Bay Library as Sydney’s best place to socialise while pretending to study for the HSC

STUDY MATES: Double Bay Library has been crowned Sydney’s most popular venue for students to hang out while pretending to study.

Time Out magazine is praising the library for its natural light, comfortable couches and crowds of year 12 students sharing their ATAR goals out loud.

“Honestly it has a really cool vibe and some of Sydney’s best bars and cafes are only a short walk away,” says a spokesperson for Time Out magazine.

With the HSC exams fast approaching, crowds of students queue outside the library every day for hours before it opens.

“I love it here,” one student told DBT.

“Some of the Ascham girls do actually study, but everyone else is just catching up with friends or scrolling insta.”

One Cranbrook student admits to telling his parents he’s going to the library to study, but instead spends all day at The Golden Sheaf Hotel.
