BOGAN PRIDE: The NRL has today made the shock announcement that next weekend’s grand final will be played on foreign soil for the first time.

“Given the sheer numbers of Penrith and Parramatta fans on holidays in Bali at the moment, we thought we’d stage the final there,” says NRL boss Andrew Abdo.

Post lockdown travel has seen an exodus of western Sydney residents flock to the popular and cheap holiday island.

“And most of the players intend on travelling to Bali after the game, so it just makes sense for everyone involved,” says Andrew Abdo.

The NRL says grand final ticket prices will be up to 10% cheaper than normal this year, however the only beer available at the stadium in Bali will be Bintang.
