Man found delirious and malnourished at Central Station after spending two months looking for the correct platform
CAST AWAY: It’s a harrowing tale of confusion and survival inside Sydney’s most confusing train station.
A Sydney commuter has been rescued at Central Station after spending two months navigating its perplexing layout in search of platform 24.
Hamilton Giles-Millwood was discovered today in a bewildered and weak state.
“I entered the station in early June, expecting a quick and easy commute to Bondi,” he told DBT.
But the station’s notoriously labyrinthine corridors, confusing signage and seemingly endless renovation works led him astray.
“After six weeks of looking for platform 24, I gave up, and basically collapsed on the station floor,” he says.
The 36 year old is now being treated for dehydration at St Vincent’s hospital.
“In future I’ll just catch an Uber,” he says.
