Lonely Planet release its new travel guide: ‘The Worst Four Things To Do In Sydney 2025’
TOURIST TRAPS: Travel guide publisher Lonely Planet has released its much anticipated ‘The Worst four Things To Do In Sydney, 2025,’ with The Royal Easter Show taking out the top spot.
“Visitors can look forward to three‑hour queue marathons for dodgy carnival rides, manned by ride operators with a scary amount of missing teeth,” says the Lonely Planet guide.
“And you’ll leave with debt and diabetes.”
Coming in second place is Vivid Sydney.
“Lining up to see colourful lights in freezing winter temperatures is an absolute no no,” says the guide.
“Everyone knows this, but for some reason they still go, only to be met by street closures plunging the CBD into absolute chaos.”
In third place is the Bondi to Bronte walk during Sculpture By The Sea.
“Imagine Bondi Beach on a beautiful summer day, but a billion times worse,” says the guide.
“Look out for topless runners weaving their way through thousands of people pretending they understand art.”
“Personal space is a myth, and the nearest bathroom is likely several kilometres away.”
And last but not least, is lining up just to get into Caterpillar Club.
“Spend two hours waiting to get into this popular underground CBD bar, only to spend another two hours waiting for a $28 cocktail,” says the guide.
“Honestly the best thing to do in Sydney is just stay home, if you have one.”
