Joh Bailey opens up new coastal salon, so people can get hair touch-ups while doing the Bondi to Bronte walk
COASTAL GLAM: Celebrity hairdresser Joh Bailey has stunned Sydney’s beauty and fitness communities with the launch of his latest venture: a fully-operational salon built into the cliff face between Bondi and Bronte.
“We noticed a real gap in the market,” Bailey told DBT, after cutting the ribbon on his new salon this morning.
“It’s very windy on the Bondi to Bronte path, so already we’ve been inundated by people looking for a quick blow dry or restyle.”
“OMG so convenient,” said one walker. “I’m just doing my walk for mental health and a quick colour refresh.”
“I just ducked in for a quick foil,” says another.
Some locals are expressing concern over the salon’s prime cliffside real estate, arguing it obstructs an already very busy pathway.
The Waverley Council has so far refused to intervene, citing the salon’s “strong alignment with the area’s values of health and self-care.”
