“Escape the Matrix!” says Aussie influencer who moved to Bali, where he lives in a youth hostel but sneaks into resorts to film content

IN TOO DEEP: An Australian influencer is spruiking the financial benefits of living in Bali.

“You’re a fool if you don’t move to Bali for financial freedom!” insisted Ethan Ridley-Jones in a video he posted to social media.

“There are massive tax advantages here and the lifestyle is so much better.”

His social media content is now devoted entirely to convincing other Australians to move to Bali.

“$3 massages on the beach and beautiful weather all year round, just have a look at my sick villa.”

However after being approached by DBT the 31 year old admitted that the “villa” featured heavily in his content is actually a luxury Seminyak resort he regularly walks into pretending to be a guest.

He is currently sleeping in a 12-bed dorm at a nearby youth hostel.

“To be honest, I’m completely broke with a severe case of Bali belly and a sore leg after being hit by a moped last week.”
