POOGEE: HYROX announces its next Sydney event will take place at Coogee Beach

TOUGH MUDDER: HYROX has announced Coogee Beach will host its next major event, after a new report ranked it Sydney’s most polluted beach with faecal matter.

Organisers say an open-water swim will test athletes’ strength, endurance and immune systems.

“We wanted to push competitors beyond the usual running, sled pulls and burpee broad jumps,” a spokesperson said.

The swim will be held immediately after heavy rainfall to ensure maximum difficulty.

Competitors who swallow any water will receive a medal, a towel and a referral to their GP.
