“We’re solving the housing crisis, the traffic crisis is a you problem,” says NSW government announcing 8,500 new homes but zero new lanes or roads
BOTTLENECK BAY: The NSW government is continuing its bold strategy of solving one crisis while aggressively ignoring another.
The Premier today unveiled a plan to build 8,500 new homes at the newly named Bays West in the heart of Sydney, with no additional road infrastructure.
“After paying $2 million for a one-bedroom apartment in the new development, buyers won’t be able to afford petrol anyway,” says the Premier.
The project will include a new metro station.
But drivers don’t buy it.
“As if I’m ever going to use public transport,” said one eastern suburbs man.
“Anzac Bridge is already such a punish. I’ve been stationary near the Rozelle interchange since 5.14pm.
“During peak hour this entire area is basically a parking lot, just without the convenience of being near anything.”
