A local ‘digital payments’ enthusiast is making the bold prediction that Australia’s economy will be completely cashless by 2024.

“We’re already almost there,” says Rick Tumia. “Especially now with Covid and contactless payments.”

The 35 year old father of two says he pays for most things with Cryptocurrency, and even gives Bitcoin to his children for pocket money.

“Around 92% of all money worldwide is just digital. It’s all just code bro,” he told our reporter.

But his cashless prediction is being challenged by revelations he gives more than $1000 cash every week to cocaine dealers who rely on anonymous payment methods.

“Oh yeah, well apart from that, we are definitely going cashless,” says Rick Tumia. “And obviously we still need notes for snorting purposes.”

“Oh and also my cousin’s construction business also only accepts cash.”
