Virgin Australia is offering record discount fares to India as it attempts to lure Australians back into international travel.
“It’s a great time to see the subcontinent,” says Virgin Australia CEO Jayne Hrdlicka.
“We acknowledge there is a high risk of contracting Covid, but flights to India have never been better value.”
Virgin is now offering flights from any Australian capital city to New Delhi for just $7.50.
“At this stage, given border restrictions, we can only offer one-way flights,” says Hrdlicka. “But get in quick, because these heavy discounts won’t last.”
It follows her controversial comments yesterday that Australia needs a plan to re-open its borders and that we “can’t keep Covid out forever.”
“In the meantime, please take advantage of our record low airfares to India,” she says. “Sure, some people may die, but we need to revive the airline industry.”
