Uber ride from Bondi to Western Sydney Airport is more expensive than a Jetstar flight to Bali: Report

FARE ENOUGH: A damning new report has found that taking an Uber from Bondi to the soon to open Western Sydney International Airport can cost more than a Jetstar flight to Bali.

The study by UNSW found the average Bondi-to-Badgerys Creek Uber fare is $210, slightly more expensive than many Jetstar flights to Denpasar.

“The road tolls alone are about $30,” says lead researcher Michael Grant.

“By the time you reach the M4, you’re basically just tapping your card directly into the NSW infrastructure budget.”

The advice is to ensure flights leave from Mascot, or remain in Bondi permanently.

“It’s cheaper to leave the country than leave the eastern suburbs,” said one local woman.

“I’m just going to cancel my Bali trip and have a huge night at Ravesis.”
