An elderly Sydney man’s foray into online dating apps has been cut short after he discovered the dating opportunities on LinkedIn.
“Contacting women under guise of ‘work opportunities’ is much more above board,” says Johan Barker. “Tinder is too direct.”
The 61 year old divorcee says he enjoys perusing LinkedIn’s ‘People Also Viewed’ section.
“I just click connect if they look nice,” he says. “And of course, on LinkedIn people use their real names, so the stalking potential is immense.”
The senior financial planner has so far met up with 2 women from LinkedIn since joining the social network 18 months ago.
“The first seemed reluctant to talk about non-work related matters, but the second one has recently accepted my Facebook friend request, so there’s real potential there.”
