CHEAP THRILLS: A Sydney family has saved $15,000 on accommodation, transport, lift passes and overpriced hot chocolates after cancelling their Perisher holiday and recreating the experience in their backyard using 18 bags of ice they bought from their local servo. “We really wanted to introduce our kids to skiing and the conditions here in the backyard are so much better than in Perisher,” mother Jemma Fuller said, carefully steering her daughter around a patch of exposed concrete.
