Sydney Marathon runner practises hydration drills at Woolies by jogging down the drinks aisle and grabbing sports drinks

WOOLIES WARM-UP: A Sydney Marathon runner was spotted doing his weekly grocery shop at Woolworths Potts Point today, decked out in his full race kit, including his race bib and $300 Oakley sunglasses.

Dave Petrakis-Thomas was preparing for tomorrow’s race by practising his hydration technique, running down the drinks aisle and taking bottles without breaking stride.

He completed several passes of the Powerade display while closely monitoring his watch.

“The drink stations can get pretty congested,” he explained. “So I need to be efficient.”

The 34-year-old also practised opening bottles and taking a quick sip on the move, leaving staff to mop up a trail of red liquid.

The session ended when he collided with an elderly shopper.
