NSW government announces new road toll for City2Surf runners using the Kings Cross Tunnel

FUND RUN: City2Surf runners will be charged a new $4.71 road toll to pass through the short tunnel under Kings Cross, from William Street to New South Head Road.

“If you can afford a $200 pair of runners and the $100 race fee, you can afford a small toll,” the NSW Premier told the media today.

With 80,000 runners expected to take part, the state government is tipped to earn almost $400,000 in toll revenue.

“This money will be reinvested in other road tolling projects,” says the Premier.

“That’s insane!” One runner told DBT. “What’s next, a toll to take your dog for a walk in Centennial Park?”
