From the makers of ‘The Farmer Wants A Wife,’ comes ‘The Farmer Wants A Life,’ a brand new reality TV format soon to hit our screens.

“We’re offering one lucky Australian farmer a life free of drought concerns, fluctuating commodity prices and extreme isolation,” says Nine Network executive Cameron Lyle.

The series will put 13 farmers through their paces as they try to adjust to life in Sydney’s big smoke.

“We’ll be following their journey as they deal with heavy traffic, difficulty parking, polluted air, wankers everywhere and overly priced drinks and food,” says Cameron Lyle.

Among the contestants is Luke Masters, a sheep farmer from Coolah NSW.

“To be completely honest, I’d just love the chance to live a short drive or walk to a shop of some sort,” he says.

“Anything under 30 minutes drive would be amazing . Maybe a 7/11 or something?’

Viewers will decide the farmers’ fate, voting to evict one farmer at the end of each episode.

“The last remaining farmer will win a small studio apartment in the inner city suburb of Newtown,” says Lyle.

The show was scheduled to begin production last month, but it’s understood producers are struggling to find enough willing participants.
