A male Sydney real estate agent has angered women’s groups for taking part in a social media challenge designed for women to empower other women.
As part of the #challengeaccepted photo initiative, popular Double Bay agent Ivan Fanous posted a black and white image of himself in front of property he’s trying to sell.
“I wasn’t nominated, but I don’t see any reason why I cant be involved,” he says. “It’s a great way to market my personal brand on Instagram.”
The hashtag #challengeaccepted has been used more than 4.5 million times.
Ivan Fanous is reportedly the first man to use it.
Women’s groups have filed a complaint to instagram to have his post removed.
“He’s an imposter,” says Kate Davis. “The initiative is for women only, not for attention seeking real estate agents.”
At time of publishing at 3.45pm, Ivan Fanous’ #challengeaccepted post remains online.
