Heavy rain and flash flooding in Sydney’s east is proving no obstacle for Amber Howarth.
The Double Bay woman has driven her $200,000 Range Rover through flood waters rising up to 6cm in one area next to an overflowing drain.
“I specifically purchased my Range Rover for days like this,” she says. “It’s interesting to see how it performs in such treacherous conditions. Scary though!”
Ms Howarth normally uses the 4WD to shuttle her two children to and from school in Bondi Junction.
And, sometimes she says she’s forced to go off-road.
“Westfield Bondi Junction car park is considered off-road isn’t it?” she asks.
Rain fall around the state is expected to intensify over the next 24 to 36 hours.
More to come.
