Disabled Residents In Nation’s Rich List: Report

“The average value of cars parked in the suburb’s disabled parking spots is $204,000.

Double Bay’s handicapped community has joined the ranks of the nation’s wealthiest people, according to a new report.

Over a six week period, researchers recorded which cars were parked in the suburb’s disabled parking spots.

“We recorded each car brand and model number, to work out the average car value to be $204,000,” says lead researcher Carmen Long.

“The data shows us that Double Bay’s disabled people are very high income earners.”

The local council says it’s a testament to persistence and to overcoming adversity.

“We are extremely proud of our disabled community,” says councillor Rod Craig. “They’ve clearly overcome a lot to get to where they are today.”

Double Bay Today asked several disabled people for an interview as they returned back to their car, but none of them were willing to comment.

More to come.
