Double Bay Woman Applies For Flood Relief Payment After Stepping In A Puddle In Gucci Sneakers

BIG WET: She may not live in one of the 23 LGA’s now eligible for flood relief payments, but a local woman says she deserves it as much, if not more than, anyone else.
Not far from her Double Bay home, mother of two Karen Stiller stepped in a puddle while wearing her $3200 Gucci sneakers.
“The local council is doing nothing to repair potholes in the area, so it’s no wonder these disasters happen,” she told DBT. “This is a flooding emergency!”
Ms Stiller claims that even after her shoes dried at home, she noticed they’d become slightly discoloured due to the water damage.
“My heart goes out to those who’ve lost homes in the flooding, but honestly you are not the only ones being impacted.”
More heavy rain is expected this week.
