#BREAKING: NRL Grand Final entertainment confirmed: Full replay of the AFL Grand Final show on Accor Stadium’s big screen
TAKE TWO: After weeks of speculation and rumours, the NRL has finally revealed its pre-game entertainment plan for Sunday’s Grand Final between the Roosters and the Knights.
Instead of a live performance, the 80,000-strong crowd will watch a full replay of last week’s AFL Grand Final pre-game show on Accor Stadium’s big screen.
“It really was an incredible spectacle,” admits NRL boss Peter V’landys.
“So we thought, why go to all the trouble of organising another one?”
The unprecedented pivot to broadcast-only entertainment comes after NRL officials failed to secure a headline act of their own.
Sources at Rugby League Central confirmed that last-minute negotiations broke down with Shannon Noll, a locally sourced AC/DC cover band, and the guy who plays the bucket drums outside Town Hall station.
