#BREAKING: Byron Shire Council Announces Travel Bubble With Bondi

SPECIAL EXEMPTION: From next Monday Bondi residents will be allowed to travel to Byron Bay under a new arrangement between the Byron Shire Council and Waverley Council.

“The travel bubble is an important way of keeping Byron Bay’s economy healthy,” says Bryon councillor Jamie Hayes. “We need tourists from Bondi just as badly as they need us.”

The travel bubble arrangement has the support of the NSW Premier.

“Byron Bay is a very popular destination for Bondi residents, so we’re making a lockdown exception by allowing travel between the two areas,” says Gladys Berejiklian.”

It also means Bondi residents currently in lockdown in Byron Bay will be able to travel home easily.

DBT understands actor Chris Hemsworth will be among the first Byron Bay residents to arrive in Bondi as soon as the travel bubble commences next week.
