Boss of Australia’s biggest media organisation, angry at journalist for trying to ask him a question

MEDIA MELTDOWN: The chairman of Nine Entertainment, Australia’s biggest media company is under pressure to resign today, after demonstrating that he doesn’t understand how the media works.

Peter Costello knocked a reporter to the ground at Canberra Airport yesterday, while he was refusing to answer questions about the sexual-harassment scandal engulfing his media company.

“Our reporters on esteemed shows like A Current Affair would never try to ask someone a question,” said Peter Costello.

“It’s just not how journalism works.”

The fracas between Costello and The Australian’s journalist Liam Mendes took place inside the terminal with several witnesses watching on.

“Costello shoulder charged him and sent him flying,” said one witness.

“Maybe Costello should get the call up for the NSW State of Origin side for game 2.”
