Bellevue Hill woman calls Westpac Rescue Helicopter after becoming trapped in conversation with someone from Zetland

SOS: A Bellevue Hill woman out with friends in Double Bay today has been airlifted to safety after getting stuck in a conversation with a Zetland man.

“When he told me he lives in Zetland I knew I was in trouble,” Allegra Worthington-Smythe told DBT.

“Every time I tried to leave, he asked another question,” she said. “I couldn’t see a way out.”

The 34-year-old began panicking, even though Zetland is only nine kilometres from her home.

A Westpac Rescue Helicopter eventually winched Worthington-Smythe from Bay Street and returned her to safety.

Doctors say she is expected to make a full recovery, but has been advised never to travel west of Moore Park.
