GOT TO BE IN IT: Bankstown father Johnny Phipps is celebrating this morning after finally being able to afford parking at Bondi Beach.
“Like for most Sydneysiders, two hours of beachside parking has always been the stuff of fantasy,” he told DBT.
But all that changed today after the 35 year old was revealed as the sole Division 1 winner of this huge $100 million Powerball.
“I quit my job immediately,” he told DBT. “Then I went straight to Bondi Beach to pay $16 for two hours of parking. It took me an hour to find a spot but it was totally worth it.”
“I love coming to Bondi, but I’ve only ever got here by public transport, so today was a real game changer.”
So what’s next for the western suburbs tradie?
“Well, first I have to see exactly how much money I’ve got left after parking at Bondi today. Hopefully I’ll still have enough for a beer at Ravesis.”
